About Me
Nickolas Likhachov is Of Counsel at MOYAL & SIMON and has more than 18 years of experience advising private individuals, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and corporate groups on private wealth structuring, banking and finance law, cross-border transactions, asset protection and complex international disputes.
He has particular experience advising High-Net-Worth and Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals on Luxembourg holding and private wealth structures, international asset consolidation, succession planning and private banking matters. His practice includes the legal analysis, preparation and presentation of complex Source of Funds and Source of Wealth documentation, as well as the coordination of legal, banking, fiduciary and tax advisers across multiple jurisdictions.
Nickolas has been involved in significant cross-border mandates, including a EUR 65 million M&A transaction, a EUR 150 million private Eurobond issuance, a EUR 90 million equity investment and asset recovery proceedings involving claims exceeding EUR 450 million.
His dispute resolution experience includes LCIA arbitration proceedings as well as cross-border asset recovery mandates involving fraud, misappropriation, interim measures, worldwide freezing orders and the tracing and preservation of assets across multiple jurisdictions.
Nickolas also advises on the acquisition, disposal and ownership structuring of international real estate, yachts, aircraft, works of art and other high-value assets.
Before joining MOYAL & SIMON, Nickolas worked as a Partner and Senior Legal Counsel in law firms and in the financial sector in Ukraine. He has been recognised by, among others, IFLR1000, The Legal 500, the Lexology Client Choice Awards and Best Lawyers.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Law from Kyiv International University, awarded summa cum laude, as well as a Diploma in International Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) in London.
He is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
